The Hospice Concept

Hospice is a special concept of care designed to provide comfort and support to patients and their families when a life limiting illness no longer responds to cure oriented treatments.

Hospice of Metropolitan Erie is one of Pennsylvania’s first hospice organizations, founded by a concerned and capable group of volunteers.

We were incorporated in 1980, and have been run by Erie area residents as a non profit charitable organization for decades.  Basically, this means local interest and local oversight.  We are truly a community based hospice provider at every level.

We do not use a cookie cutter approach to care because every individual has a unique story.  We are honored to have you place your trust in us.

We take very seriously our promise to deliver our best.  We recognize our community’s continued belief and support of our efforts to make end of life care an important part of life’s journey.
